Our Story
Where did you meet?
MN: At a mutual friend's party (shout out to Eliud Marquez).
MC: At Eliud’s birthday party. Had no clue who was going to be there.
What was your first impression of each other?
MC: Not only was she the first girl to show up to the party, she decided to show up to a pool party in a business suit and heels. So naturally I had questions.
MN: In my defense I had to work after the party.
MC: I did figure that out later of course.
MN: He was shirtless.
MC: It was a POOL PARTY.
Who made the first move?
MN: He did.
MC: I did. I made sure I secured those digits before she left ;)
MN: I usually don’t give out my number and my intention was to mess up the last 4 digits.
MC: “Mess up.”
MN: Next question, please.
Where was your first date?
MN: I told Matt that if he survived the night I owe him a beer.
MC: We went to INK in downtown off of N and 28th. It was actually her suggestion. I got there pretty early. Had a couple of beers at the bar before she showed up. Needless to say she caught up quick because she decided two vodka shots would be a good idea. I don’t think she’s had a vodka shot since.

Who said "I love you" first?
MN: Matt.
MC: I did. I feel like most would assume that. I said it on my birthday after she met my family for the first time.
Was there an exact moment you know Michell/Matt was the "one"?
MN: I used to take my coffee extremely sweet, like challenging my enamel strength sweet - like I want the insulin rush, sweet. I called him and asked for my usual sweet coffee - but a hot one. He confirms, picks up the coffee, drives it to me, and he hands me my cup, he says “wait.” He reaches into his jacket pocket and pulls out a huge fist of sugar packets. “I already added sugar but I know you would want more.” He was so earnest in that moment. That was when I knew “yep I’m going to marry him someday.”
MC: Even though I said “I love you” first on my birthday, I wanted to say it before that. We went on a date on 1st Street in Benicia. If you know the area, it a nice spot by the water. But of course I felt like she should meet my family first. Funny story about my birthday that year, my grandmother met her that day, and I introduced Michell to her as my girlfriend. It took all of about two seconds for my grandmother to ask, “So...do you love him?” Michell couldn’t say and she asked again, “DO YOU LOVE HIM? ANSWER ME!” In short, Michell was cornered by my grandmother to say she loved me. Hahaha
What do you love most about each other?
MN: He makes me a better person.
MC: Obviously of course of her making me a better person too. But it’s her selflessness and giving personality that always stands out. She always goes above and beyond for the people she loves. All of you who know her know that for a fact.

Q: Where is the party venue?
A: We need to preface with: this is not your traditional wedding ceremony and reception. The Mix Downtown is an urban and modern rooftop lounge/nightclub with an outdoor patio, fire pits, and a full bar. The vibe and environment is casual, we want you all to have great time with an open/hosted bar, heavy appetizers, and music.
Q: What is the dress code?
A: Cocktail Attire. No tie necessary. Look polished while being comfortable.
Q: What is the RSVP Deadline?
A: Saturday, June 22, 2024.
A: Can I bring a plus one?
Please do not bring a plus one, unless they are specifically named on the invitation, or given as an option on the RSVPify site.
Q: Are kids allowed?
A: We politely request no children (unless listed on invitation and RSVPify link).
Q: What time should I arrive at the party?
A: Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 5:30 PM.
Q: Is it indoors or outdoors?
A: There is indoor lounge seating indoor and an outdoor patio.
Q: What will the weather be like?
A: Sacramento heat is no joke. You will feel like you are inches away from the sun. However, the Mix Downtown will be shaded with air conditioning.
Q: What is the parking situation?
A: Street parking. If you plan to drink (which you will) please be safe and use Lyft/Uber.
Q: What is the Address?

Q: What type of food will be served during the party?
A: Heavy Appetizers.
Q: Will there be an open bar?
A: Open Bar + Hosted by M&M. Drink your heart out.
Q: Do you have a wedding registry?
A: Your presence is the greatest gift of all, but if you insist on giving a gift, we would appreciate contributions towards our honeymoon fund.
Q: What time does the party end?
A: 9:00 PM.
Q: Do you have hotel blocks for guests?
A: We do not have a room block for our guests, but our recommendations are: Hyatt Regency Sacramento, Sheraton Sacramento, and the Kimpton Sawyer.
